WINDOW TO ASIA. Part II. China: Rise of the Predator. Sinocolonialism-XXI

We present the second part of the renewed issue of the series of analytical materials "Window to Asia".

Sino-colonialism is a phenomenon of the 21st century, which became possible against the background of the degradation of Western civilization, its neglect of traditional values, and the loss of its attractiveness for third world countries due to the difficult colonial and no less complex post-colonial past. China, to the extent of its rapid economic development, became more and more attractive both to poor countries and to sufficiently developed ones. However, many of them fell into the "Chinese trap".

The specific cases of a number of countries presented in the review are convincing evidence of the dangers that await governments of countries that seek to receive Chinese money "without conditions" instead of Western money or international financial organizations, which accompany this with appropriate conditions of reforms, transparency of use and accountability. "Cheap" and "unconditional" Chinese money then costs both states and societies dearly, which are forced to pay for "Chinese temptations" for decades.
