Ukraine in brief
39th day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the russian military invasion.
Russian invaders continue to conduct full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. In connection with the beginning of the withdrawal of units of the armed forces of russia from the Sumy Oblast, the enemy probably decided to abandon the attack on Chernihiv, Sumy, and, in part, Kharkiv.
In Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, the withdrawal of units of the occupying forces to the territory of Belarus is coming to an end. Any control, including radiation, by border guards of Belarus is not carried out. The occupiers continue to export looted vehicles and other property from Ukraine to Belarus without hindrance.
The situation in Kharkiv Oblast did not change significantly during the day.
In Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, the enemy measures to regroup and strengthen the existing troops. Thus, the transfer of some units from russia to the territory of Donbas is confirmed.
The enemy continues to suffer losses in staffing and military equipment. The enemy’s violation of international humanitarian law is confirmed daily by numerous civilian casualties in the liberated settlements. All facts are documented and submitted to international judicial institutions.
The night in Kyiv passed quietly. The city’s infrastructure is working: communal services, transporters, doctors, and rescuers. Citizens are provided with all utilities.
Every hour, the network publishes more and more evidence of crimes against humanity committed by the russian occupation troops in Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel, and other settlements of Kyiv Oblast.
In Bucha, in one of the houses, the occupiers set up a headquarters with two rooms. In the first, people were brutally interrogated, and in the second, civilians were shot in the back of the head with their hands tied behind their backs. The bodies of children with their hands tied were also found.
In Irpin, russian occupation troops shot women and children. Their bodies were finished off with tanks.
Prypyat in the Chornobyl exclusion zone and the border with Belarus are entirely under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We see difficult pictures now in the city of Bucha and Irpin in the settlements of Kyiv region.
Ukrainian men, women and children were shot dead with their hands tied. Katsaps raped Ukrainian women and moved them in tanks.
The occupiers completed the withdrawal of military units from the Chernihiv Oblast to russia and Belarus. However, the silence frightens locals no less than the constant airstrikes. Chernihiv was destroyed by 70%. Clearing operations against russian occupation forces and demining are being carried out learned in the Oblast.
The withdrawal of russian occupation troops continues in the Sumy Oblast. The body of Serhiy Pronevych, the marathon runner, belonging to the Book of Records of Ukraine, was found in the Sumy Oblast. He was tortured to death by russian occupants.
Over the past 24 hours, the russian troops have struck about 21 times from artillery, mine-throwers, and tanks to the city districts of Saltivka, Pyatyhatky, Oleksiyivka, and Dergachi.
The most intense situation was in the Izium direction. About 80% of residential buildings in Izium were destroyed. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continue to repel the occupiers’ attacks. In the morning, a Russian Su-34 plane was shot down near Izium. The Ukrainian military now captures the pilot.
In Balaklia, the occupiers fired from the russian tanks at the Central Regional Hospital. The building was partially damaged, so patients and staff needed to be evacuated immediately. About 70 people are planned to be evacuated.
International organizations and the Ukrainian media capture the crimes of russian occupation troops in the Kharkiv Oblast. On March 13th, in the village of Mala Rohan, a russian serviceman repeatedly raped a woman at a school where she and her family were hiding.
The situation remains alarming. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and Territorial Defense Forces are preparing to repel the enemy. The evacuation of the population continues. Utility services are operational. Volunteers continue to help the city with evacuation, humanitarian aid, and the needs of the Territorial Defense Forces and the AFU.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Districts
During the day, the settlements near the demarcation line were shelled: Avdiyivka, Maryanka, Ocheretyno. As a result of the strikes, at least 21 civilian objects were damaged, including residential buildings, schools, churches, and farms. The AFU are holding back the enemy. The Territorial Defense Forces, together with the police, are on duty. Utility companies on the territory of Pokrovsk Community operate as usual. The Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Pokrovsk City Council helps provide baby food and diapers to IDPs with babies.
The situation is tense. People are being evacuated. During the last three days, there was shelling and rocket explosions in the city center.
Mariupol has been under blockade for more than 30 days. During this time, no humanitarian mission of international organizations went to the city. However, help is needed to dismantle the debris, evacuate people, and deliver essentials to Mariupol. In addition, it is crucial to record crimes in a city where there are no more journalists.
The city is destroyed by more than 90%. There are many natural burials. The smell of dead bodies is everywhere. The Ukrainian military is doing an incredible feat in holding the city, surrounded by russians on all sides. Street fights continue for every street, neighborhood, and house.
The occupiers focused on the capture of Rubizhne and Popasna. They are preparing to attack Severodonetsk. In the southern part of Rubizhne, explosions are heard every ten minutes. The evacuation of residents of Luhansk Oblast continues. The patrol police are helping with this.
Fighting is taking place in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Russian occupation troops shell peaceful villages and towns in the Polohy District, deploying weapons and military equipment near housing infrastructure. At night and in the morning, the inhabitants of the village of Komyshuvakha heard heavy artillery volleys. Presumably, russian occupation troops shelled the villages of Novoyakovlivka and Magdalinivka.
In the temporarily occupied territories, the occupiers carry out filtering measures, use violence against residents, and engage in looting.
Due to damage to power supply lines, 69 settlements of Zaporizhzhia Oblast remain without electricity supply. At the same time, employees of Orikhiv Electric Networks restored the power supply to about 1500 families. Damage to Vilnia power grids caused by adverse weather conditions has also been eliminated. In the rest of the territory, it is impossible to restore the electricity supply due to active hostilities or the inadmissibility of repair crews by the occupiers.
The situation with water supply stays without changes. There is no centralized water supply in Huliaipole, Stepnogirsk, and parts of the settlements of Polohy and Vasyliv Districts.
In Zaporizhzhia, air alarms did not subside during the night and morning. The city continues to receive internally displaced persons (IDPs) from occupied settlements and areas where active hostilities occur. During 18 days, Zaporizhzhia met 60497 evacuees, including 16328 children. As of 18:00, an evacuation convoy of 10 buses leaving Berdyansk is moving in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.
Yesterday in the Zaporizhzhia Military Hospital, the staff of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Philharmonic Society performed a concert «Together to victory!» The artists expressed their support and gratitude to Ukrainian defenders, doctors, firefighters, and volunteers.
People’s Deputy Oleksandr Ponomaryov was hospitalized in Berdyansk. On March 22nd, it became known that the russian occupiers had abducted him, and to date, there has been no information about his whereabouts. The People’s Deputy is in intensive care, and he is in serious condition.
Abductions of residents continue in Melitopol. Private entrepreneurs Oleh Rudenko and Vitaliy Rudchenko, a restaurateur, have been recently abducted.
Residents of Kherson and Kakhovka took to the streets again for a peaceful meeting against the occupation. The invaders in Kakhovka opened fire at meeting participants.
The city is occupied. There are problems with Internet connectivity and no foodstuff supplies. Municipal pharmacies are empty, and individual helpers bring medicines into the city only from outside towns.
Sirens had been blasting off since 4:30 am. At 6 am, the invaders launched airstrikes against critical infrastructure facilities in Odesa. No casualties have been reported, but some facilities were damaged. The anti-air defense is working, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) defend the territory. The Territorial Defense Forces fortify Oblast defenses. The local government calls for calm and advises against spreading information about strikes for safety and security reasons. The locals are proactive and readily volunteer.
The enemy used MRLs to shell a village in the Apostolovo Community with cluster munitions. No residential buildings were hit or casualties reported. The Oblast anti-air defense downed russian SU 34 over the Kharkiv Oblast.
50 cluster retarded action munitions launched by the russians during the shellings have been rendered safe in the Kryvyi Rih area.
The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating shellings of Kryvyi Rih and residential areas in the Kryvyi Rih District from russian Smerch multiple rocket launchers.
There are nearly 33 thousand IDPs currently in the Oblast. Large industrial manufacturers in the Oblast restore their operation. Almost 10 tons of medicines have been delivered to health care institutions in the city of Kamyanske.
Some 500 Lysychansk residents were evacuated yesterday by Dnipro volunteers. Nearly a half of them will stay in temporary shelters of Dnipro and Voloske, and the rest will head for the western oblasts of Ukraine.
The city received 20 tons of humanitarian aid from European football players: a cargo from the Union of European Football Associations and the Football Federation of Hungary reached Dnipro. A local car repair network repairs IDPs vehicles free of charge. Dnipro residents help the network with their money and spare parts.
There was a threat of a missile strike today. At 4 am, there was an air alarm. The situation is under control. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) protect the Oblast’s borders and military facilities. The Territorial Defense Forces are on duty at checkpoints and patrol the city with police.
Kirovohrad Oblast is becoming a growing hub for Ukrainians who had to leave their homes. Since the beginning of the war, the region has hosted more than 68000 IDPs. Today, almost a thousand IDPs arrived, and half of them are children. Almost 22000 people chose the Oblast as a place of temporary residence and registered there.
The night and morning in Poltava and the Oblast passed under air alarm. The fire at the northern industrial hub of Kremenchuk, which occurred yesterday due to an enemy missile strike, has not yet been extinguished. The refinery is not working due to the missile strike too. There is currently no environmental threat and no casualties.
Oleksiy and Ihor Revy – successful comedians from Poltava, actors, and screenwriters of the studio “Mamahohotala” returned from Kyiv and joined the AFU. Poltava cafes, restaurants, and cafes joined the charity event “Food Regiment” in support of the AFU and the Territorial Defense Forces. Medical facilities received 49 bulletproof vests and 32 StarLink satellite Internet stations.
In general, the situation is calm. There was no destruction during the entire period of hostilities on the Community’s territory. There was an attempt to bomb an oil depot in one of the villages, but the missile did not hit.
Among IDPs, supporters of the “russian world” are deliberately harming. Recently, after the dwelling was rented out, IDPs left the apartment, turned on the gas, and left a note with obscene text for the Bandera members. The apartment survived. Such cases are not uncommon. Therefore, many residents refuse to provide housing even on a commercial basis.
An air-raid siren sounded twice. There were warnings about the launch of Iskander missiles from the territory of Belarus and a raid by russian strategic aircraft from the Black Sea. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the Territorial Defense Forces are working, not disclosing the details.
Another center for temporary accommodation of IDPs has been set up in Lviv Oblast – with beds, pillows, mattresses, bed linen, and sleeping bags.
1409 people, who were forced to leave their homes due to hostilities, were resettled today. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian military invasion, 277000 people have been sheltered in the Lviv Oblast.
The Lviv Oblast Military Administration received distinguished guests and good friends of Ukraine – delegations of the Seimas of Lithuania and Poland. Representatives of both countries once again expressed unconditional support for our state in the fight against the russian occupiers.
As of April 2nd, there are about 8000 officially registered IDPs in Drohobych. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, about 15000 IDPs have arrived in Drohobych. Eyewitnesses of russia’s war against Ukraine (residents of Vorzel, Irpin, Trostyanets, Verkhnotoretske) were sheltered in the Drohobych District.
The situation is relatively calm. Air-raid sirens went off twice. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) patrol the border with Belarus. The Territorial Defense Forces members patrol and stand guard at checkpoints.
In Rivne city center, activists organized an event against the war in Ukraine, where parents and children took a travel backpack and a favorite toy with them.. Citizens are united, and they help IDPs and the military.
One of the educational institutions of Rivne Oblast was adjusted for IDPs. First aid classes are conducted in the communities of Rivne Oblast.
Enterprises previously located in hotspots will move to Oblast. 277 applications have already been received, and 70 are being processed.
The situation in the city and Oblast is under control. Yesterday at about 5 pm, during an air-raid warning, there was a missile strike on an industrial facility in Shepetivka, Khmelnytskyi Oblast. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine workers extinguished the fire within 13 hours. According to preliminary information, there are no victims.
Chernivtsi Oblast (Bukovyna)
In Chernivtsi Oblast and Chernivtsi, the situation is under control. Recruitment to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continues. With the National Guard, police, and other law enforcement agencies, Territorial Defense Forces members continue to work intensively during wartime.
During the interview with the German channel WELT Serhiy Osachuk, Head of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration, said: “Support for Ukraine is a foreign and domestic political necessity of every free country. Ukraine will not be conquered and will not disappear. It is a fact. Therefore, after the victory, after the end of the war, the conscience of many people in Europe will question them: “Have you supported Ukraine or not?”
“Bird of Light Ukraine” charity organization has purchased six ambulances for the needs of Ukrainians, two of which have already been delivered to the capital of Bukovyna. Volunteers of the Chernivtsi Active Community work in the social kitchen, preparing more than 400 free lunches daily for IDPs and the military.
Today from 4 to 7 am, the air-raid siren was on. Currently, the situation is calm, but there are problems with the registration of IDPs due to long queues. Territorial Defense Forces are preparing for defense.
