Operational information from the regions of the Active Community network 31.03.2022

Ukraine in brief:

Today is the 36th day of the heroic defense of the Ukrainian people against the russian military invasion.

The primary efforts of the enemy are focused on maintaining the occupied borders, preparing for the resumption of offensive operations in certain areas, and establishing total control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

The transfer of part of the enemy’s troops and equipment from Belarus territory to russia by rail was recorded.

700 units of enemy equipment were withdrawn from Kyiv overnight, but “surprises” are possible.

In the Volyn direction, no significant changes in the composition and position of enemy troops were noted. The enemy continues to conduct demonstrative activities in this direction.

In the Polissya direction, the enemy’s main efforts are focused on withdrawing troops from the territory of Ukraine, restoring their combat capability, and, probably, transferring them to other directions. To ensure the withdrawal of troops, the occupiers are conducting artillery fire on the positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and carrying out remote mining of the area by means prohibited by international conventions.

The occupiers continue to block and carry out artillery shelling of Chernihiv. They are fixed on the occupied frontiers and regroup. The enemy uses unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to conduct surveillance and adjust artillery fire.

The enemy continues to carry out artillery shelling of Kharkiv.

In Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, the enemy is concentrating its primary efforts on taking control of the settlements of Popasna, Rubizhne, as well as the capture of Mariupol. Enemy intensifies airstrikes using tactical aircrafts on troops and facilities in the territories of Lysychansk, Rubizhne, Popasna, and Kreminna.

Enemy strengthens troops in the Donetsk direction. The arrival of railway echelons with weapons and equipment at the Rovenky railway station was noticed.

The enemy deployed a logistics base in the Kherson Oblast near Nova Kakhovka. There is no active action.

In Mykolayiv Oblast, the enemy takes measures to restore combat capability. Occupants continue to carry out engineering support activities. The enemy is trying to block the actions of Ukrainian troops with artillery fire.

Northern oblasts

The night in Kyiv was quiet. Over the past week, more than 500 entrepreneurs have resumed their businesses. A commandant’s office has been set up in the capital to monitor curfews and provide light masking.

Kyiv Oblast

The occupants are partially withdrawing troops from the Oblast. Every day, 30 to 40 attacks by russian occupation troops on housing estates and the social infrastructure of the Kyiv Oblast are recorded.

Destructions were recorded in 35 out of 69 communities in the region (50.7%). In total, more than 550 objects were affected. This was reported in the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Critical destruction was inflicted in Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel, Borodyanka, Makariv, Velikodimersk, Piskiv communities.

In the territories of Kyiv region left by the enemy, there are frequent cases of mines on the roads and buildings of local residents. In all directions, the Russian enemy is successfully restrained by the Armed Forces, and in some areas, our troops are carrying out successful counterattacks.

In Irpin, operations to clear and demine the area continue. Russians shell the city with heavy artillery. The Makariv community, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated, is also under constant fire.

The occupiers will leave the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and its satellite city, Slavutych. Information about fortifications and trenches that the russians were building directly in the Rudyii Forest, the most polluted in the entire Exclusion Zone, was also confirmed. //

Chernihiv Oblast

The occupiers continue to shell Chernihiv Oblast. Near Chernihiv, they marched in a column with volunteers. Civilians were traveling in five buses that came under fire to evacuate people from the occupied territories of Chernihiv Oblast. One volunteer was killed, and four others were injured.

Another column of Russian occupiers was destroyed in Chernihiv region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the villages of Lukashivka and Sloboda in Chernihiv Oblast. Humanitarian aid is currently being distributed to locals, and explosives are being cleared.

In Chernihiv, locals collect rainwater for technical purposes. Also, in the city, the sewerage still does not work. Citizens are urged to dig public toilets or take waste to cesspools.

Sumy Oblast

The night in Sumy passed quietly. There were several air raids during the day. In the communities liberated from the occupiers, work continues to restore livelihoods, including demining of buildings and territory.

In Trostyanets, which was occupied by russian troops, the invaders mined many buildings, including a cemetery.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the past day, russian troops have struck 47 times with artillery, mortar, tank, and strikes in the areas of Pyatihatok, Oleksiyivka, and Kharkiv Tractor Factory.

The occupiers fired on Dergachi en masse. One person was killed, and three were injured. One of the City Council buildings was destroyed in the city; many houses were damaged. Armed Forces of Ukraine are working in this direction and are gradually expelling the enemy.

The fiercest point remains Izyum, where fighting and constant shelling continue.

This is what the Saltivka residential area in Kharkiv now looks like.

Donetsk Oblast

The russian occupation forces again dropped phosphorous shells on Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka.

The situation is alarming. Together with the Territorial Defense Forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to meet the enemy. The mayor held meetings with representatives of public utilities to ensure the city’s livelihood. The evacuation of the population continues; volunteers help evacuate, work with the distribution of humanitarian aid, weave nets, and help the city’s defenders.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk District

During the day, 13 settlements were shelled. The strikes damaged at least 29 civilian objects – residential buildings, a boiler room, and the power grid. The occupiers used phosphorous shells again – in Marinka. Dozens of fires were found in the city and were extinguished by State Emergency Service officers.

The shelling of Krasnohorivka with phosphorous shells was recorded, resulting in private houses being destroyed. Georgiyivka, Novokalynove, and Ocheretyne came under fire – no civilians were injured, but several houses were damaged.

As a result of the shelling, Avdiivka was cut off again. Two people were injured in Avdiivka and Marinka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repel the enemy. Representatives of the Territorial Defense Forces defense and the police are on duty. Yesterday there was a report about the destruction of the plant due to the shelling of Pokrovsk in the area of the residential area of the village of Dinasov. One person was injured, and nearby buildings were damaged.

During preventive measures on the outskirts of Pokrovsk, the National Police of Ukraine found the body of an undocumented man with fatal gunshot wounds. He had a UAV control panel.

Eleven wounded civilians from the Mariinsky community, including 4 children, were taken to the Kurakhiv City Hospital. There are two wounded in the Ocheretyn community. The Myrnohrad community of the Pokrovsky District lost three more service members. The supply of drinking water and food to frontline settlements continues.

The air raid alert is constantly sounding. The situation remains tense. Police officers conduct enhanced patrolling of the community streets, and the State Emergency Service also works in emergency mode.

The city infrastructure operates in regular mode. The utility companies are operational. Private retail facilities operate on a limited basis – the market functions. Food products are available in the shops. The Bakhmut-Khlib LLC works steadily to meet the needs of the local community.

At the Aid Reception Center, they continue to collect the necessary things and generate a list of those items daily.

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) continue to come to the city, though not as many as a week ago. Residents try to live an everyday life: they go to work and take their children to the park for a walk.

The Ukrainian military remains in control of the center of Mariupol.

Southern oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Ukrainian defenders in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast liberated the settlements of Zatyshshya, Malynivka, Vesele, Zelenyi Hai, and Chervone from the russian occupation.

Communication with the settlements controlled by the russian military is complicated or absent. The people in the majority of the occupied territories suffer from a humanitarian catastrophe.

Today 69 populated areas of the Oblast remain without power supply. Due to this, there are water supply problems, particularly in Polohy, Huliaipolie, Stepnohirsk, and other settlements of the Polohy and Vasylivka districts, where hostilities are taking place. Most accidents are caused by shelling. The russian military does not allow specialists to carry out repairs.

The russian invaders also prevent the evacuation of the population and the delivery of humanitarian aid. Last day, the evacuation convoy from Enerhodar, which left for Zaporizhzhia, was not allowed through the russian checkpoint in Vasylivka. The humanitarian convoy, which left Zaporizhzhia for Melitopol yesterday, passed the checkpoint in Vasylivka only today at about noon. All this time, the russian military did not let the buses with vital products and medicines pass.

The situation in the city remains stable. Air raid alerts sounded twice during the day. IDPs from russian-occupied settlements continue to arrive in Zaporizhzhia. Volunteer centers, humanitarian hubs, and information points continue to operate.

The medical staff of Melitopol hospitals, unable to withstand pressure and blackmail from the occupation authorities and russian troops, are leaving the city en masse. As of today, 40-50% of the medical personnel have left the city.

As a result of russian artillery shelling in Komyshuvakha, 10 private households were damaged.

Kherson Oblast

In the Kherson Oblast, the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained control over three settlements.

The situation is standard. The so-called “referendum” that the russians wanted to hold did not occur. Volunteers help as much as they can. In some cases, medicines can be transferred from nearby cities. The orcs are in the city and say that the local authorities have been replaced. The mayor is still out of contact.
