Mykhailo Gonchar, President of the Centre for Global Studies "Strategy XXI" comments on his FB page:

"Crimean Putin's henchman Aksyonov, nicknamed "Goblin," lets out snot about  a missile strike to the extraction platforms of "Chornomornaftogaz".

It's time! It is our property, what we consider necessary - we do! In addition, there is nothing to hang their radars on stolen property.

The mining and drilling rigs of the Ukrainian state-owned company Chornomornaftogaz, seized by Russian special forces in March 2014 during an operation to occupy Crimea, have become convenient sites for Russian Black Sea Fleet signals intelligence using civilian maritime infrastructure in the northwestern Black Sea sector. Neva-type radars were installed on them, which allow controlling the surface and air space between Crimea and Odesa region. And also sonar systems were installed that allow Russians to "see" the underwater space.

In our Black Sea Security Journal No 2 (32)  (available in English) we described it in 2018. For more information, see the paper "OFFSHORE GAS INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE RUSSIAN COUNTERACTION TO NATO ON THE EASTERN FLANK: POTENTIAL FOR A HYBRID USE IN THE BLACK AND BALTIC SEAS" on p. 4-22", - writes M. Gonchar.
