Ukraine in Brief:

38th day of the Ukrainian people’s heroic struggle against the russian military invasion.

Chernihiv Oblast: the invading troops continue relocating away from the national border of Ukraine deep into the territory of Belarus. A substantial number of military equipment is out of operation and has to be towed.

Panic moods are spreading among the russians service members because of radiation exposure of the personnel stationed in the Chornobyl zone. The residents of Bragin township in Belarus have been advised to avoid contacts with russian invaders relocated from the contaminated area.

The so-called ‘evacuation’ of private vehicles stolen by russians from Gostomel, Irpin, Bucha, and Ivankiv continue. Moreover, the russian plunderers try mailing the stolen goods from Belarus to russia via SDEK express mail before being relocated to other directions.

The invaders are blocking the exit from the town of Buryn, Sumy Oblast; a pile-up of russian military equipment is being reported in the area. The siege of Putyvl goes on, the town being surrounded by enemy checkpoints. The invaders are raiding the village of Yurieve, attempting to launch a census and looking for weapons.

The enemy continues its attempts of taking over Mariupol, blockading Rubizhne, Severodonetsk, Popasna, Troitske, Avdiyivka, Maryinka, and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The invaders see little success and sustain losses instead.

There have been no substantial changes in the situation in the Mykolayiv Oblast. The internationally not recognized Transnistria residents are fed grapevine about the alleged forcing of local military personnel to partake in the war against Ukraine. The defense forces continue destroying enemy troops and freeing Ukrainian territories.

Northern oblasts

The night of April 2nd was uneventful. The municipal infrastructure operates normally, and all utility services are available to residents.

Kyiv Oblast

The Brovary, Vyshhorod, and Bucha Districts of the Oblast, recently freed from the invaders, will have a 48 h curfew period. The limitation is intended to eliminate the aftermath of the russian aggression and ensure security sweeping and mine clearing operations in the area.

On April 2, rescuers from Kyiv Region inspected the area in the combat zone in the city of Irpin, Bucha district. During the inspection, 643 explosive devices were seized

The national flag of Ukraine was solemnly raised, and the national anthem was performed at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

In the photo – Bucha Street. Some people left their homes for the first time to meet a column of Ukrainian servicemen

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the bodies of killed civilians lay 20 kilometers from Kyiv near the highway. Four or four dead naked women were found under the blanket, whom Russian barbarians tried to burn just on the side of the road.

Zhytomyr Oblast

The Oblast had memorial services for the fallen hero defenders from Myropil, Romaniv, Raihorodok, Horodnya, and Radomyshl communities.

Yesterday, a resident carrying an artillery and mortar fire adjustment device was detained in Zhytomyr. He was found sneaking nearby checkpoints and taking photos with his phone. The Oblast police registered airstrike aftermaths in the Stanyshiv Community and shelling aftermaths in the Malyn and Narodychi communities.

Chernihiv Oblast

There was an air raid alert. It was a lull in the night with no firing to report. The russian aggressors left Gorodnya yesterday. The russians occupied the village of Staryi Bykiv and began seizing phones and abducting the locals.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs currently advises against returning to Chernihiv Oblast residential areas freed from the russians. Ukrainian service members work to clear the areas from mines.

Ihor Ilyushchenko, an activist, and his son have been able to evacuate more than 300 Chernihiv residents in three weeks single-handedly. They used their private buses to transport evacuees free of charge. On March 23rd, Ihor’s vehicle was targeted by russian fire. Ihor was killed, and the son, who was ultimately able to recover his dad’s body after 36 hours, had to drag it for three kilometers using an uninflated rubber boat.

The Ukrainian Resistance Forces liberated the village of Mykhailo-Kotsyubynske in the Chernihiv region.

Sumy Oblast

There was an air raid alert in the Oblast. The Deputy Head of the Nova Slobidka Community (Konotop District), Oleksiy Shybaiev, was taken prisoner by the invaders.

Eastern oblasts

Donetsk Oblast

The city is teeming with enemy troops and equipment. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been repelling enemy attacks in the village of Velykanovosilka, Volnovakha District. The Territorial Defense Forces are evacuating the locals.

Two local MPs in the Volnovakha District and the Velykanovosilka Community, brothers, have been assisting residents with humanitarian aid from the first days of the war.

Some locals are returning to Volnovakha because of a ‘decree’ by the terrorists that declares any property whose owners have not returned in one month will be escheated to russia. The returnees endanger themselves also because of the mining of the area. In one atrocious case, a family caught the mine upon returning to Volnovakha, leaving the father and the daughter dead. The mother with two minors survived and is currently in the hospital. The so-called DPR carriers have emerged to transport medicines or people to Donetsk.

No military action was recorded. But the situation remains worrying. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and Territorial Defense Forces are preparing to meet the enemy.

The Mayor continues meeting employees of enterprises, hospitals, etc. The evacuation of the population continues. Utility services are operational. Volunteers continue to help the town with evacuation, humanitarian aid and supply the needs of the Territorial Defense and the AFU.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk District

The shelling of the Maryinka Community continues. Today, russian occupation troops killed one person in Maryinka and damaged two houses. As a result of the russian bombardment, 4 people died.

Because of the shelling, there is no water and heat supply in Avdiyivka. Operations of the public transport are suspended. Yesterday a local school was under fire, today – four more houses.

Electricity supply was damaged in many settlements of the Ocheretyn Community. One person died, and there is destruction and damage to residential buildings.

Soldiers of the AFU repel the enemy. Farewell to a deceased soldier of the AFU took place in Pokrovsk. The senior soldier Yuri Pashkov died in battle in the Donetsk Oblast.

Members of the Territorial Defense Forces are on duty together with the police. The Mayor of Pokrovsk said that medicines were delivered to the community on residents’ orders. However, it was impossible to bring them in full due to the lack of drugs.

A farewell ceremony was held in Myrnohrad for a deceased soldier of the AFU, a serviceman of the 53rd Brigade Naumets Yevhen, who was lethargy injured near Volnovakha.

In the Myrnohrad City Council, the faction “Oppositional Platform – For Life” has ceased its activities. The Myrnohrad Community received humanitarian aid from “Vostok SOS” in drinking water and long-lasting products.

Southern oblasts

Zaporizhzhya Oblast

The situation in the Oblast remains difficult. The russian occupiers are trying to advance in the directions of the towns of Gulyaipole, Zaporizhzhya, and Kamyanske, but they have not succeeded or made significant changes. Infrastructure in the Polohy District of the Oblast continues to be fired. Delivery of humanitarian aid to the occupied settlements is complicated and partially blocked. Evacuation of civilians from the occupied territories is also either problematic or impossible.

The situation is stable, despite frequent air alarms. For 18 days, Zaporizhia received 60 497 evacuees, 16 328 of them were children.

In Melitopol, the enemy continues to deploy artillery systems between residential areas to fire in the Zaporizhzhya direction. Today at 11 a.m., the russian military dispersed people who were enlisting themselves in the humanitarian convoy to leave for Zaporizhzhya. Volunteers who were putting the lists together were kidnapped and taken in an unknown direction.

Police are recording new facts about the shelling of residential buildings. As a result of the enemy artillery strike, a fire broke out in the utility structures on the territory of two private households.

In Tokmak, the russian occupation authorities plan to hold a so-called “referendum” on April 4th to create a separate quasi-republic.

In Enerhodar, russian occupiers are detaining residents. They are accused of organizing pro-Ukrainian actions and preparing sabotage. The occupiers exert psychological and physical pressure.

According to NNEGC “Energoatom”, in the morning, the residents of Enerhodar gathered for a peaceful rally. The russian occupiers surrounded the protesters. There were a series of explosions and machine-gun fire – the russians used weapons against the civilian population. Previously, four people were injured in explosions and shelling in Enerhodar. //

Kherson Oblast

The Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Oblast Council said that the “Crimean scenario” of the occupiers had failed in the Oblast. He spoke about the “systematic disruptive work from within,” which was started by the russian military after an unsuccessful attempt to create a quasi-republic.

In Oleshky, monuments at the central cemetery were destroyed due to enemy shelling. The enemy fired on the village of Kalynovske, and one person was killed. In Kakhovka, the occupiers abducted the former Kakhovka City Council Deputy Oleh Kozhemyakin.

In support of the Security Service of Ukraine, Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov has promised to severely punish those citizens who post photos and videos of explosions caused by missiles on the Internet.

American actor Gary Sinise echoed the appeal of Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov and called on foreigners to support Ukrainians by sending money to the TAPS Charitable Foundation.

The Oblast continues to receive humanitarian aid. The Ukrtekhagro LLC, at its own expense, brought helmets and bulletproof vests to Dnipro and then transferred them to the Territorial Defense Forces, the police, the National Guard, and the military personnel. Together with the Israeli medical company SAREL (Netanya), the people of Israel handed over 49 pallets of medical equipment and materials to Dnipro. Deliveries are organized by the “Unite for Ukraine” Center for Assistance to Ukraine in Israel.

Restaurants of the Peremoha (Victory) volunteer network “fight” at the gastronomic front in Dnipro. Some 20 eateries in the city have united into one team and prepare/cook up to 6000 servings of food daily for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the Territorial Defense Forces, and internally displaced persons (IDPs). Prostheses for people with disabilities are made free of charge in Dnipro.

In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, jobs are offered to migrants who earlier worked as notaries or passed the relevant qualification exam. Kirovohrad Oblast

There was a missile strike threat, so an air raid alert sounded in the city. The night was restless. Rockets exploded right next to the Oblast’s borders. According to official information, the neighboring towns of Kremenchuk and Poltava came under shelling last night.

Air raid sirens sounded twice. There was a threat of a missile attack. The patients are in moderate severity, and their health is stable. The victims were on the road for about 36 hours – some residents of Mariupol with shrapnel wounds to their arms and legs.

Almost 3000 IDPs were received and resettled in Lviv in one day. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, the Lviv Oblast has provided shelter to 276 000 residents of other oblasts. Almost as many people have settled in the private sector on their own. More than 30 000 people were registered as IDPs in the Lviv Oblast in the Unified Information Database on IDPs.

The Business Support Program will soon be launched in the Lviv Oblast. It will be an auxiliary tool to support programs that the state implements for businesses. Ten volunteers of the Charitable Foundation “Goodness Workshop” started working in the children’s room in dormitory №5 for children who moved from dangerous oblasts of Ukraine //

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

The situation in the Oblast is calm. In Ivano-Frankivsk, free excursions are provided for IDPs. The theme of the first tour was chosen as the historical center of Stanislavov – now Ivano-Frankivsk. It is an opportunity for guests of Ivano-Frankivsk to get acquainted with the city’s history.

Today a fair was near the “Rukh” Stadium (128 Chornovola Street), where citizens could buy various products, cereals, and vegetables from local producers. Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Hundreds of Khmelnytskyi residents came to honor the Hero Anatoly Nazarenko, who died from russian aggressors. The Personnel officer went to the front on the first day as part of the 3rd separate tank brigade of the AFU. He died heroically on March 28th, rescuing his comrades-in-arms during enemy shelling in the Kharkiv Oblast.

Among them are well-known representatives of musical art – a prominent Ukrainian composer, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Chairman of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine Igor Shcherbakov, and world-class pianist, People’s Artist of Ukraine Yuri Kot. The artists are preparing big charity concerts, the proceeds of which will be donated to help the AFU.

Currently, the issue of organizing the educational process for students of vocational and higher education institutions who have moved from other cities is acute. Also relevant is the career guidance of non-disabled young people and their parents to choose popular professions. To solve these issues, the Educational Hub was opened in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Thanks to the Hub, IDPs and residents of the Oblast will be able to gain new knowledge and skills online. The Educational Hub is located on the premises of Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic College.
